2Lake Nakuru National Park
Drive to Lake Nakuru, one of the Great Rift Valley's most dramatic parks. The alkaline lake draws enormous flamingo flocks in season — a wall of pink along every shoreline. The park is a declared rhino sanctuary and holds both black and white rhino, plus lion, leopard, buffalo, and giraffe in the surrounding acacia woodland.
Insider Fact
Lake Nakuru was declared a rhino sanctuary in 1983 — today it holds one of East Africa's highest concentrations of both black and white rhino outside a managed reserve.

3Masai Mara National Reserve — Arrival
Drive southwest from Nakuru into the Masai Mara — Kenya's most celebrated wildlife reserve. A game drive on arrival covers the open plains and riverine forest along the Mara River, searching for big cat sightings in the late afternoon.

Masai Mara Sopa Lodge
4Full Day in the Masai Mara
A full day of game drives in the Masai Mara. The reserve is home to one of East Africa's largest resident lion populations, plus cheetah, leopard, elephant, and the world-famous wildebeest crossings of the Mara River (July–October). Your guide covers multiple zones across the reserve to track the most active predators.
Insider Fact
During the Great Migration (July–October), more than 1.5 million wildebeest and 200,000 zebra cross from Tanzania's Serengeti into the Mara — one of the most dramatic wildlife spectacles on Earth.

5Kenya–Tanzania Border Crossing & Central Serengeti
Cross the Kenya–Tanzania border at Sirari with EWA guide handover, and enter the Serengeti from the north. An afternoon game drive begins immediately on the Tanzanian side, where the Serengeti ecosystem continues seamlessly from the Mara. Arrive at camp in the Central Serengeti before sunset.

6Full Day — Central Serengeti
A full day in the Central Serengeti, covering the Seronera Valley and surrounding plains. Central Serengeti holds resident year-round populations of lion, leopard, cheetah, elephant, and buffalo — one of Africa's most productive predator territories across all seasons.
Insider Fact
The Seronera River in Central Serengeti is lined with fig and sausage trees where leopards rest between hunts — one of the best zones in Africa to spot leopard from the vehicle.

7Full Day — Central Serengeti
A third full day of game drives in the Central Serengeti. Your guide explores different sections of the reserve based on fresh tracking information and seasonal patterns, giving you the best chance of new sightings and behaviour.

8Ngorongoro Crater
Drive south to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and make the guided descent into the Crater. The Crater floor — 260 km² of grassland, forest, and soda lake — holds all Big Five in permanent residence, including approximately 25 black rhino, making Ngorongoro one of the few reliable places in Tanzania to observe rhino in the wild.
Insider Fact
The Ngorongoro Crater walls act as a natural enclosure — most animals live their entire lives within its 260 km² floor, which explains the extraordinary density of wildlife.

9Tarangire National Park & Arusha
Drive to Tarangire for a morning game drive among Tanzania's most spectacular elephant herds. The Tarangire River draws hundreds of elephants during the dry season, and the ancient baobab trees scattered across the landscape are among the oldest living things in Africa. Continue to Arusha for your final night.
Insider Fact
Tarangire holds one of Africa's highest elephant densities outside the wet season — herds of 50–200 animals are a common sight along the river.
