The day the trip is built around. Trackers head into the forest at dawn to locate a gorilla family, and your group follows — anywhere from thirty minutes to several hours of hiking through bamboo and montane forest, depending on where the group has moved. Once found, you'll spend a closely regulated hour in their presence: silverbacks, mothers with infants, the unhurried business of a wild gorilla family going about its day, close enough to feel entirely improbable.
