Yes — this itinerary is built to suit every skill level, from a first-time DSLR owner to a working professional. Guides give practical in-field guidance on positioning and timing throughout, without ever making it feel like a class rather than a safari.

Pace and intent. A standard safari moves toward the next sighting; this one holds position and lets a scene unfold — a mother wildebeest with a newborn still finding its feet, a cheetah reading the herd from a termite mound. That patience is built into the itinerary itself, not just left to chance.

The main window runs roughly late January through March, with the peak of calving typically falling in February — when the highest concentration of newborn wildebeest and the strongest predator activity coincide.

A DSLR or mirrorless body, a wide-to-mid-range lens for landscapes, and a telephoto of at least 400mm are recommended — 500-600mm rewards distant subjects, while a 70-200mm is useful for closer sightings. A full packing and gear guide is shared with confirmed guests ahead of departure.
